On Donor Day, 9 freezers for plasma storage were handed over to the Lviv Blood Center

Today, on Donor Day, we report on our fundraising campaign for the needs of the Lviv Regional Blood Service Center. We managed to attract so much attention to the problem of the lack of a mobile blood collection station in the Lviv region that, thanks to caring foreign benefactors, the Blood Center already has two Blood-mobiles. Since two mobile stations are quite enough to work and process the volume of orders that come to the Blood Center, they asked us to change the purpose of the funds and purchase other equipment for the center, and send the rest of the collected funds to help the medical services of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

And we are ready to share the result!
Today, we transferred to the center 9 Tefcold horizontal freezers, which are used for long-term storage of blood and its elements, including plasma. The volume of one freezer is 392 liters, and the temperature regime stored in the chamber can reach -45°С. Thanks to these freezers in the Blood Center, it will be possible to store much larger reserves of blood plasma, and therefore it will be possible to make more visits by Blood-mobiles, collect more blood in-patient, and be able to save more human lives.

Thank you to Iconart Contemporary Sacred Art Gallery, Kostyantyn Shumskyy, all the artists and icon painters who contributed their talent to our fundraiser. And to friends from the USA Alex Demko Yuri Bilas Vadym Sholomytskyy for attracting donations from abroad. We are grateful to Ruslana, Victoria Gardens Lviv, Pavel Tabakov’s Creative School, Pierig and Batig and everyone involved in the collection of blood and donations at last year’s events. And to the BROC advertising company for printing and informational support.

And to everyone who daily helps close large and small gatherings to save lives.
We remind you that donor blood is used not only to save the wounded as a result of the war, but is also needed to help with domestic injuries and to treat children with oncology.
Come donate blood and save someone’s life!
